India – The Next Defence and Aerospace
Manufacturing Superpower
The ‘Make In India’, ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ & ‘Vocal for Local’ initiatives have phenomenally contributed to the Indian Defence sector. Setting up of Defence Corridors across India has also worked wonders and made Indian companies a part of the Global Value Chain (GVCs). Together, helping the Defence sector grow by nearly 20x in the past decade. And after Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, talks are on for setting up of the Third Defence Corridor in Assam.
Catalysing The
Third Defence & Aerospace Corridor
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCC&I) is proud to announce Shakti – Global Defence Conclave – a landmark three-day defence meetup of leading military leaders, multinationals, startups, financial institutions, cabinet ministers & heads of state in Assam this December. This event comes on the heels of the Indian government’s decision to establish Assam as the Third Defence Corridor in India, recognizing its strategic importance in the region.
Intended to be an upcoming hub of defence manufacturing, Assam’s geographical location, rich resources, and skilled workforce offer immense potential for growth and development. The proposed Defence Corridor aims to enhance national security, reduce import dependency, and contribute significantly to India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
Shakti is a three-day power-packed global event that will create a platform for business development, collaborations between stakeholders and B2B networking of global & domestic businesses – aimed at promoting the nation as the next defence production hub and boosting defence export capacity.
